Second Wave of Bribery Investigation Hits Istanbul’s Beykoz Municipality: 6 Detained

ISTANBUL — Turkish police have detained six suspects in a second-wave operation targeting the municipal administration of Istanbul's Beykoz district over allegations of bribery and extortion (rüşvet ve irtikap).

The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued arrest warrants for a total of eight individuals as part of the ongoing investigation into the tenure of the suspended former Beykoz Mayor, Alaattin Köseler.

While six suspects—including local businesspeople, a Beykoz Municipal Council member, and former municipal employees—were successfully taken into custody during coordinated police raids, authorities are actively searching for the remaining two fugitives.
